The mission of Rising Sun Montessori Charter School is to provide an authentic Montessori education in a school community that embraces the diversity of our students, parents, and teachers. Our school community will nurture the individual needs of each child in a learning environment that encourages students to be self-directed, avid learners who are prepared for a diverse world.
With a foundation in the Montessori Method, Rising Sun Montessori Charter School offers traditional subject areas of Math, Science, English, Social Studies, and Art, in line with the Common Core State Standards. Students’ coursework will prepare them for both life, and the world of work.
Rising Sun Montessori is open to all families in and outside of El Dorado County with children in grades TK-8. The Charter School endeavors to provide students and their families a strong sense of community, multi-age classrooms, regular foreign language studies, fine arts, and the opportunity to learn in a multi-sensory environment with a class size that ranges from 24-28 students.

Rising Sun Montessori Charter School is located at 4940 & 4958 Robert J Mathews Parkway, El Dorado Hills. Students attend school August – June for 179 days from the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Rising Sun opened on August 18, 2014.
Rising Sun Montessori Charter School offers exceptional Montessori education that is tuition-free. The Charter School is nonsectarian in its programs, admission policies, employment practices, and all other operations. The Charter school does not discriminate against any person on the basis of ethnicity, national origin, gender, or disability.
